This grey and miserable weather is really great for writing! I’m up to ten stories now and over 17,500 words. If I do decide to go with this new book, I think this could be the intro:
The following collection of ten short stories was inspired by a recent event that brought back a flood of memories; I moved house. Part of that moving experience (pardon the pun) was dismantling my stereo and then reassembling it again at the new location, which in fact, was the old house- stay with me here. On reconnecting all the different parts of the stereo system, I miraculously got my old LP record turntable to work after it had lain dormant and inoperable for over three years. This piece of welcome serendipity, of course, unleashed an obsessive and pent-up enthusiasm for old vinyl. Playing the old records all night long with a good bottle of red wine as complementary accompaniment brought on a series of dear memories that I thought would make interesting short stories. Anyway, I had little choice as I felt a strong need to write them down, and had a lot of fun in the process. There are one or two “ring-ins”, but most of the ten stories in this book are dedicated to those memories. I hope you enjoy them.
